Preregistration

Fill out your preregistration form, available at your doctor’s office or at Englewood Hospital by calling Labor and Delivery Admissions at 201-894-3000, ext. 4115, or Admitting at 201-894-3015.

Childbirth Education 

Sign up for our childbirth education program to gain skills and confidence in being a new parent.

Friends and Family CPR

This program teaches skills for the prompt care of a choking infant or child, along with CPR skills. See upcoming schedule.

Prenatal Yoga, Meditation, and Massage

Our Graf Center for Integrative Medicine offers classes and services by appointment for expectant mothers, including prenatal massage therapy, meditation and yoga, and holistic nutritional counseling. 

Find a Pediatrician

Our neonatologists (pediatricians who specialize in newborns) will provide any needed care for your baby in the hospital. Once you go home, you’ll want to find your own pediatrician for ongoing care. Use our online physician search to find a pediatrician. 

Install a Car Seat

At least three weeks before you are due, install the base of the seat. On the day you go home, your support person should bring only the infant carrier into the hospital. Read your car seat manual to ensure proper usage. Any infant car seat should be fully functional and have all original parts. Car seats should not be more than six years old from the date they were manufactured. If you are having difficulty installing it or want to have it inspected, contact your local police station or find resources through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website.

Prepare a Hospital “Go Bag”

We recommend packing your “go bag” three weeks ahead of your due date. You may want to keep the bag in your car. However, if you have items that are sensitive to hot or cold temperatures (e.g., cord blood collection kit), keep the bag inside near your door.

What You Should Pack

• Driver’s license or identification card
• Insurance card
• Comfort tools for labor (your favorite pillow, massage oils, music playlist, etc.)
• Toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, etc.)
• Cell phone charger
• Comfortable going-home outfits for mom and partner
• Going-home outfit for baby that is weather appropriate
• Car seat (already installed in car) with instruction booklet

What We Provide

• Patient gowns
• Sanitary pads and postpartum underwear
• Towels and washcloths
• Breast pump and breast bump attachments to use while in the hospital (also available for rent from the gift shop) 
• Formula, if formula feeding
• Diapers and diaper rash ointment
• Blanket, undershirt, and newborn hat

Where to Go at the Hospital

Englewood Hospital is located at 350 Engle Street, Englewood, NJ. 

Day/Evening (6 a.m. – 11 p.m.): Main Entrance
Enter through the main hospital entrance and someone at the information desk will assist you.

Overnight (11 p.m. – 6 a.m.): Emergency Entrance
Come in through the Emergency Department.
