Englewood Health’s Cancer Center Earns National Recognition as Academic Comprehensive Cancer Program

August 21, 2025 — Englewood Health is proud to announce that The Lefcourt Family Cancer Treatment and Wellness Center has been recognized by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as an Academic Comprehensive Cancer Program (ACAD). This prestigious designation reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to elevating care for the communities it serves through clinical services, research, and education.

Previously designated as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program (CCCP), Englewood Health’s new status as an ACAD program marks a significant milestone. Only 13 percent of cancer programs nationwide hold this distinguished classification.

To receive the ACAD designation, a cancer program must not only diagnose and treat a high volume of patients, but also participate in postgraduate medical education and clinical research including enrolling eligible patients into trials. Englewood Health not only meets, but also builds upon, these criteria, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in cancer care and an active hub for clinical education and training.
