Englewood Health Designated a Certified Quality Breast Center

Achieves National Recognition of High-Quality Breast Care

February 14, 2025 - The Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center at Englewood Health has been named a Certified Quality Breast Center by the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC), recognizing the center’s commitment to delivering exceptional diagnostic breast care.

Englewood Health has maintained this designation since 2010, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to excellence in breast health.

The National Quality Measures for Breast Centers® (NQMBC) program, created by the NCBC, is a voluntary initiative that tracks quality care metrics. It enables breast centers to benchmark their performance against peers nationwide, offering essential data to improve patient outcomes.

To earn distinction as a Certified Quality Breast Center, Englewood Health excelled in quality metrics related to the timeliness of care, including the time from a screening mammogram to a diagnostic mammogram, the time from a diagnostic mammogram to a core biopsy, and the time from a core biopsy to breast cancer surgery. Timeliness in breast cancer care is critical because early detection and prompt treatment significantly improve patient outcomes, leading to higher survival rates and reduced complications.

“We are honored to be nationally recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center,” says Mindy Goldfischer, MD, chief of breast imaging and medical director of The Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center. “This designation reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care and underscores the dedication of our entire team to achieving excellence in breast health.”
