Englewood Health NewsEnglewood Hospital Achieves 25th ‘A’ Patient Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group
November 13, 2025 — Englewood Hospital has been awarded an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group for fall 2025, marking the 25th time the hospital has achieved this top safety rating and earning Englewood Hospital national recognition for patient safety.
“Reaching 25 ‘A’ grades is a remarkable achievement that speaks to the consistency, skill, and dedication of our entire team,” said Kathleen Kaminsky, MS, RN, NE-BC, senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer. “Patient safety is built into everything we do, every day—it’s part of who we are as an organization.”
The Leapfrog Safety Grade is determined through a rigorous evaluation of national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, and additional data sources. These measures create a composite score that reflects a hospital’s ability to protect patients from preventable harm and medical errors.
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade highlights hospitals that excel in 22 evidence-based patient safety measures and are actively reducing lengths of stay and improving patient outcomes, including lowering mortality rates.
The grading methodology is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public.
The Leapfrog Group issues updated safety grades twice a year, in spring and fall. Patients can access Englewood Hospital’s full safety grade details and tips for staying safe in hospitals at HospitalSafetyGrade.org.
